If you want to look like Lisa of Blackpink, Nancy of Momoland, Jessica Jung and Tiffany Young just to name a few keep reading as I am showing you in four simple steps how to achieve their looks!
Step 1 Foundation
K-pop idols and K-drama actresses, they all have a porcelain-smooth skin, so it is important to learn how to apply the base correctly.
First, you need a liquid foundation that you can apply using your fingertips. A great option could be Etude House Double Lasting Foundation, this long-lasting foundation stays in place for up to 24 hours and it is ideal for all types of events. Plus it is the perfect base to put makeup on, along with providing sun protection with SPF 34 and a bit of moisture.
Remember the following:
- Always use a foundation that matches your skin tone.
- The best way to apply the foundation is to start from the inside of your face, working your way out to the edges.
- Make sure to blend the foundation into your skin until it is no longer visible.
Once you apply the foundation your skin will have smaller-looking pores and a smoother texture.
After applying the foundation, you need to use face powder to finish your base layer. Use a brush or powder sponge to pat the powder on lightly. It is important to focus on the centre of your face and not so much on the edges.
K-Pop looks only to apply a light layer of powder to get an innocent finish. Choose a loose or translucent powder such as Skinfood Peach Powder this will prevent covering your face too much. Using this powder will let your skin’s natural glow to shine even more.
Step 2 Blush
Now it is time to contour your face using blush. You can see in the K-drama series and K-Pop stars that they choose a makeup style to make them look youthful and a great way to accomplish this is by using a pink blush.
You need to use a brush designed for compact powder and choose a pink tone with red undertones such as Etude House Strawberry Choux to the top of your cheekbones, up to the eyes and across the nose. For a warmer look use an orange tone.
Finally, to get the naturally young look that many K-Pop stars have you can apply blush in the centre of your cheeks rather than in the cheekbones or below your eyes. This will help your face look smaller and younger.
Step 3 Lip Colour
You cannot achieve a K-Pop star or K-drama actress look without a gradient lip look. To achieve this, you need to apply a bright lipstick to the inside of your lips and foundation to the outer edges.
Because you want to create a gradient look you need a lip bar/lip tint and Cover Perfection Tip Concealer to blend the two products across your lips to create the Korean gradient lips.
For a less intense look, you can use lip gloss.
Step 4 Eyes
Eye makeup is without a doubt the main focus of the Korean look. They use a colourful or glitter eyeshadow on their eyelids.
The eyeliner is used to create a dramatic look. To do it all you have to do is extend your eyeliner on the inside of your eye, just below your tear duct. My favourite eyeliner is TonyMoly Back Gel Eyeliner Long Brush as it is perfect for achieving this look.
To make their eyes appear bigger you can either put on falsies or/and use black or brown mascara to extend your lashes. Make sure to exaggerate the size of your lashes as K-Pop stars often do and don’t forget to use Shu Uemura eyelash curler to emphasize the look.
