How To Reapply Sunscreen Like a Pro Without Smashing Your Makeup

We all know that the most effective way to stop ageing signs is to apply sunscreen every day. However, it's crucial to reapply your SPF after sweating, swimming, or spending long hours outdoors.

Beauty experts say you must apply sunscreen approximately every two to three hours. Fortunately, there are infallible techniques to reapply your sunblock like a pro without damaging your morning makeup routine.

Here are the best tricks from professional dermatologists and makeup artists to quickly and effectively reapply your sunscreen.

1. Apply Enough Sunscreen Before Makeup

Professional dermatologists recommend wearing daily sunscreen all year round. Keep in mind that UVB rays are more prevalent during the summer, but UVA rays are always present.

It's wise to apply a high SPF, broad-spectrum sunblock every morning before makeup. The best time to apply sunscreen is approximately 20 minutes before going outdoors as the last step of your beauty routine.

Make sure to wait at least five minutes to allow the product to penetrate the skin before putting on makeup.

Choose a formula for your skin type and apply a proper amount. According to beauty experts, you should use at least one teaspoon of product to be applied on the exposed areas, particularly the face, neck, and collarbone.

You can also use a foundation or BB cream with SPF, such as MISSHA M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42 PA+++. However, using only cosmetic products alone is not advisable if you want thorough UV protection. These products are commonly not used in other areas like the neck, arms, and hands.

2. Use an SPF Setting Powder

You can reapply sunscreen using a light SPF powder sunscreen such as MOONSHOT Micro Setting Fit Cushion SPF50+ PA+++. Setting powders are specifically designed to apply over makeup to control sebum and oil, making your flawless look last longer.

It's possible to easily reapply powder SPF over the face in a circular motion. Make sure the product is thoroughly blended. Setting powders are excellent options, mainly if your skin is oily, as they're easily portable and easy to apply.

3. Try a Spray or Mist

A practical way to reapply sunscreen throughout the day is by using a spray or mist such as ETUDE HOUSE Face Blur with SPF50+ PA++++ and five types of hyaluronic acids.

An SPF spray or mist is not recommended if you spend the day outdoors. However, it's an excellent option for a quick retouch at work as it doesn't smash your makeup and provides UV protection.

Sprays and mists are preferred for people who like a mattifying look. You can also easily use them on other exposed body parts.
